Clear vision is incredibly important to a child's social and educational development. Often, children are unaware that they may have a problem with their eyesight and it may not always be obvious for parents or caregivers to tell.
Children can have their eyesight checked from babies right through to teens. They do not need to be able to read or talk to have their vision tested. We have child-friendly, gentle and easy checks that test eyesight and the health of their eyes.
If you suspect a problem, or have any questions at all, it's best you organise a sight test with us for your peace of mind.
Children are entitled to a free NHS sight test if they:

are under 16

are 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education.

Children are entitled to an optical voucher for help towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses if they:
